When you open QuickBooks, you may be accustomed to accessing your company file from the recently opened window. However, from time to time something may occur which cleans out the settings and this causes the file to no longer appear in the recently opened window. For example, this will happen when the file is updated to a newer version of QuickBooks. In order to find your company, simply follow the steps below.
- Click on “Open or restore an existing company” at the bottom of the window as shown in the image below.
- Choose “Open a company file” and click on Next.
- In the Open a Company window, Click on the downward arrow in the Look in Choose the Shared Data folder. When you open this folder, you will find your company file.
